  why was the ministry so much arguing over who our perception of god was?..

  when we were witnessing we could thank jehover for the trinity...but now i think the trinity is what jehovers witnesses like to discuss as it avoids stops any talk on real understanding.....because our god is different and right we could always fall back on the trinity.. .

  I find the idea of evolution hard to disqualify when you look at it objectively and the evidence. I always have, even being brought up in the "Truth" LOL it was hard to believe for me at least in intelligent design. Thats what made my exit from this cult inevitable.

  My Father went to his grave thinking the world was only about 7000 years old. Just would'nt contemplate anything else. Its kind of strange (from a human perspective) how evolution plays games with life. My genetic make up and life experiance drove me out of this cult as much as some one elses brings them into it. From a human perspective some might try to explain it as gods will, I just see it as a roll of the dice and survival of the fittest.

  Time for this Newbie to say - Hello everyone!

  in just the several months i've been lurking here, i have benefited from many of the posters comments and viewpoints.

  this is truly a special place for the unique community that has been created here.. after years of holding off my exit from the org (that may be another post) i recently became officially out (by letter of da), but it was a very difficult process as many of you know.

  thankfully, i now have my wife (was also a witness) onboard and we support each other.

  Should I just DA or get DFD?

  my never-a-jw dad told me today that mongrel jws who turn on me were never truly my friends and i'm better off without them, so why worry if i get disfellowshiped?.

  i fear being disfellowshiped because my name will be dragged through the mud.

  i also think it might be a good idea to da or get dfd because then the link is broken and the fade is over.

  Just ignore them when they request you to appear a judicial committee. They will disfelowship you in absentia thats what happened in my case.

  If you have the control over your facial expressions you can go and have some fun with it. The one thing the elders seem to hate is comedy. Given the right kind of creativity you could turn the whole thing into a joke. I have a cousin who stayed in he's a natural born comedian no one takes him seriously. I still have fond memories of his antics even after all these years outside the organization. Beleive me they don't like to be laughed at!

  considering all the consequences of leaving the organization (especially the loss of family), some who have already known ttat have decided to return and continue with the flow just to keep their families and friend.. my question is if anyone here had tried it and how they have been managing living a lie constantly day-after-day?, as i am seriously considering returnning back to the full routine..

  Go to utube and listen to Martin Luther Kings- "I have a dream speach" close your eyes and contemplate I am sure you'll make your mind up do what you can live with.

  Yes Mouthy I did do something right when it came to my daughters. When they were little and my parents who did not attend my wedding BTW in 1989 would come around my house and visit my wife and kids (when I was at work) I instructed my wife to give them very limited contact. My children know who their grandparents are but I did not let them influence them.

  When you talk about slaves I can't think of a more applicable comparison.

  Thanks Mouthy.

  I was always a free thinker though private.

  I was just reading about 1975 and the experiances that many faced they brought back many memories.

  I lost everything my familly had nothing no education but I muddled through I am married now have two daughters with university science degrees. I left pre internet talk about a lonely time. It was just recently upon hearing about my Fathers death that I started reflecting on my life pre and post JW that I happened on this site. I just can't tear myself away from it LOL. I do feel sorry for a lot of people who are still trapped in the organization and don't have the courage to leave.

  It's amazing to me that today with the information super highway of the internet this cult still exists but I am reminded by many on here not to underestimate the power of mind control and the threat of leaving freinds and familly.
